days 47 & 48

I stared Friday morning early with 7 miles. Due to feeling under the weather during my luteal phase, it had been almost 2 weeks since my previous long run. I was going to take it slow, with a goal of distance over time. Before the run, I fueled with an apple and peanut butter. Apples are great for detoxing estrogen, which is rising as I am in my follicular phase. I have been testing out various pre run foods, and I really enjoyed this combination. The run was hard but not impossible, and I felt good afterwards. I got in a proper stretch after, then grabbed a breakfast sandwich (eggs, sausage, avocado, onion, sprouts) and pomegranate green tea. Friday was a beach day, so we had turkey sandwiches on sourdough with our toes in the sand. Dinner was steak followed by ice cream.

Saturday began with a mobility and bodyweight workout. While on vacation and without acesss to a gym, I find bodyweight movements to do the trick. I use it as time to focus on form and range, which are key to preventing injury. I had some eggs and a smoothie for breakfast. My afternoon was spent at a bridal shower, so I picked at various sandwiches and snacks at the party. When I got home, I went on a nice long walk and grabbed some tacos for dinner.

Overall, my follicular phase has been what it should be- a time for energy and an ambitious, outward mindset.
